I can’t believe how fast the summer went. I feel as if the summer consisted mainly of rain in D.C.. I’ve already brought in the plants in September because the succulents were drowning here in DC. Recently it’s been wonderfully sunny but, chilly, which came almost too fast. I love the 70 degree weather where it’s crisp in the morning yet, pleasant to walk outside in a light jacket. I love the fall colors which can be so vibrant here in the northeast. It’s something that I didn’t truly appreciate the richness of while growing up in California. It wasn’t until I visited New York in 1999 in the fall, looked over the Hudson river from the grounds of West Point, where I got to take in the beauty with my own eyes. It’s still a goal of mine to experience the fall colors of Maine.
I hope you are enjoying your fall.
Happy gardening!
